Orange shares break through their €14.57 resistance level and aim to rank among the best performers in the CAC 40
The telecom operator's stock rebounds sharply in a directionless Parisian market. It moves into the leading group of the index, after several weeks of decline and a quarterly report deemed solid.
A breakout following a quarter of sharp decline
Orange shares gain 1.48% to €14.70 intraday, while the CAC 40 falls 0.06%. This gain places the stock among the strongest gainers in the index.
During the session, the stock broke above its €14.57 resistance level, which now acts as support, and it holds above it. This move partly offsets an 11.3% decline over three months, without erasing it: over the last week, the stock is up 3.1%.
The price is 3.2% above its 20-day moving average (MM20) at €14.25 and near its 50-day moving average (MM50) at €14.66, while the 200-day moving average (MM200), at €16.50, remains 12.2% higher.
The French bond market sets the tone for the session: the 10-year French government bond (OAT) yields 4.93% as of November 3, twenty basis points below its recent peak, as the National Assembly votes today on the first part of the 2027 budget.
Third-quarter results that led the group to raise its annual target
On October 27, Orange published an EBITDAaL up 4.6% on a comparable basis for the third quarter, with revenue growing 3.6%. The group raised its annual target and aims for a dividend of €0.79 for 2026. Operating cash flow rose 10.3% over the quarter.
In the sector, European peers show mixed moves this Tuesday: Deutsche Telekom gains 0.27%, while Telefónica falls 0.83% and Telecom Italia 0.35%.
Telecom Italia and Orange share a three-month decline, of 24.0% for the Italian company and 11.3% for the French one. The next level to watch is the MM200 at €16.50, which the price has not touched since the start of the decline.
