Prosus: Just Eat Takeaway orders return to growth after 55 months
In a voluntary activity update dedicated to meal delivery published on October 8, 2026, Prosus presented 2026 as "the year of execution". The group reiterated its two priorities: having "the best meal delivery operation in the world" and innovating as a "global technology leader".
From −9% in December 2025 to +0.1% in September
According to Prosus, Just Eat Takeaway orders had declined year-on-year for 55 consecutive months. At the time of the group's takeover in December 2025, they were down 9%. The decline was subsequently reduced to 7% in March 2026, then to 4% in June. In September, orders grew 0.1% year-on-year, marking their first return to growth since the start of this decline period.
iFood retains approximately 80% of the Brazilian market
In Brazil, iFood holds approximately 80% of market share in delivery applications at the national level. According to Prosus, the subsidiary lost only approximately 5 percentage points of market share, compared with approximately 20 points lost by dominant players in other regions facing comparable pressure. The group indicates that its competitors spend approximately 150 million dollars per month and describes these expenses as "irrational". iFood's non-meal delivery activities show revenue growth of close to 50% year-on-year and represent approximately 40% of revenues. Products such as Hits, which offer cheaper meals, are growing 70% compared with the previous six months. Quick commerce customers order twice as frequently as regular customers, with retention 18% higher, while meal voucher users show 30% higher retention. Loyalty program members order at a frequency twice the average. According to the group, restaurants that make iFood their primary delivery channel record annual growth on average 30 percentage points higher than their peers and have 60% lower risk of ceasing operations. Prosus also mentioned its other stakes: OLX is described as growing and profitable, Despegar shows growth of more than 20%, and PayU is presented as profitable and in expansion phase.
