Renault shares among the weakest in the CAC 40, but up 11.5% over one month
The carmaker with the diamond logo is giving up ground in early afternoon trading, while the CAC 40 is nearly flat. The decline places it near the bottom of the index ranking, after a French car market in which the group underperformed the sector as a whole.
A moderate decline that leaves the stock at its MM50
The stock is down 1.15% at €27.48 while the Paris index is stable, at -0.06%. This decline places Renault shares among the weakest performers in the CAC 40, without being one of the index's largest declines. Over the week, the stock is still up 4.9%, and it has risen 11.4% over one month.
Today's move therefore tempers a recent favorable momentum. It occurs around a precise technical level: the stock is at its MM50, at €27.39 (a gap of +0.33%), and above its MM20, at €26.91.
The MM200, at €28.55, remains above the price, a gap of 3.75%. The RSI at 53 is neutral. The stock is still down 18.5% over one year.
October registration figures, published Monday, also showed the group down 4.57% at 43,049 units, in a French market up 3.3%. This decline in registrations is identical to that of Stellantis (-4.70%).

On October 29, the group had confirmed its financial outlook for 2026, with an operating margin target of approximately 5.5%, when it published its third-quarter sales. Quarterly revenue had come to €11.6 billion.
Among the supporting points cited on that occasion, electric vehicle sales had risen 84.7% over the quarter, bringing their share of group sales to 25.8%.
The stock had jumped by about 7% that day, leading the CAC 40. In terms of valuation, according to the consensus of the analysts surveyed, the stock trades at approximately 4.4 times expected earnings for the current fiscal year.
Reported net short positions reach 8.19% of share capital, spread across six funds, down 2.43 points over thirty days. This level remains high, but its decline indicates a gradual easing of selling pressure. The next technical benchmark to watch is the MM200, at €28.55.
