S.E.B. stock breaks through its €55.40 support level
The small appliance manufacturer (Tefal, Moulinex, Rowenta) is experiencing one of the sharpest declines on the SBF 120 this Thursday, in a Paris market under budgetary pressure. The trading session coincides with Loïc Moutault taking office as the group's new chief executive officer, succeeding an outgoing team following a turnaround phase.
A €55.40 support breached as Alphavalue raises its target price to €71.50
S.E.B. is down 4.18% to €55 during the session, marking one of the most significant declines on the SBF 120, in an index that itself is falling 1.38%. The stock has breached its €55.40 support level on the downside and remains anchored there, with a last price of €55.30. This breakdown is noteworthy: this same threshold had already been retested during the September 21 session, without a sharp break at that time.
This time, the stock is settling below it. Alphavalue, however, raised its price target to €71.50 (versus €70.10 previously) this same Thursday, with an analyst consensus to "accumulate" — which represents an upside potential of more than 30% compared to the current price. This bullish signal was not sufficient to stem today's decline.
An 8% decline over one month amid unprecedented French bond market pressure
Over one month, the stock is down 8.18%, having erased much of its quarterly rebound of nearly 19% that began in July. The price remains above the 200-day moving average at €51.34 (up 7.13%), but has fallen below the 20-day moving average at €57.14 and the 50-day moving average at €57.83, two moving averages that now act as first resistance levels to monitor. The RSI at 53, still neutral, does not indicate any manifest oversold conditions.
The market backdrop weighs on all Paris-listed consumer stocks: the yield on 10-year OATs is approaching 4.86%, at its highest level since 2008, and the spread with the German Bund is hovering near 1.30 points, its highest level since 2012, amid budgetary uncertainty surrounding the 2027 draft finance law. From a valuation standpoint, the stock is trading at around 9.2 times the expected earnings for the current fiscal year, according to the consensus of surveyed analysts.
