SES share, among the strongest gainers on the SBF 120, recovers 10% over one month
The Luxembourg-based satellite operator rebounds mid-morning in a rising Paris market. This recovery contrasts with the recent slide that has eroded the stock's value since summer. The company's calendar holds a financial meeting in the coming days.
A rebound above short-term moving averages, leaving the MA200 far above
The share gains 4.56% to €4.40, versus €4.21 at the previous close, while SES ranks among the strongest gainers on the SBF 120, which advances 1.1% at the same time.
The move is sharp, but it comes after a 31.05% decline over three months, adjusted for the €0.25 dividend paid on October 13.
The price moves back above its MA20 at €3.96 (11.23% spread) and its MA50 at €4.23, while the MA200 at €5.92 remains more than 25% above the current price.
Over one week, the gain reaches 5.06%, and the share recovers 10% over one month. The rebound thus mitigates the quarterly decline without erasing it.
An agreement with Canal+ extended until 2040 and results expected on November 5
The group announced on October 27 the extension until 2040 of its satellite capacity agreement with Canal+, a client it describes as one of its oldest. The agreement covers Europe, Africa and the Caribbean. Earlier in the month, SES had agreed to repurchase €363.4 million of its 2027 bond at 97.33% of face value, according to final results published on October 5.
Its €31 million share buyback program, announced in June, was approximately 6% executed by early August. The next meeting is the publication of third quarter results, scheduled for November 5.
