Soitec shares, second-to-last in the SBF 120 after two opposing analyst opinions
The Isère-based semiconductor substrate manufacturer falls intraday, against the trend of a well-oriented Paris market. Two major banks revised their opinion on the stock the same day, in opposite directions.
Contrary analyst opinions, a stock moving away from its moving averages
The Soitec share loses 3.05% to €120.95, while the SBF 120 gains 1.47%. The stock is second-to-last in the index, ahead of Mersen. This decline comes on the day two banks published opposing opinions, according to the analyst opinions.
UBS raises its price target from €94 to €130 and moves from “sell” to “neutral”.
Morgan Stanley lowers its target from €200 to €140 and revises its opinion from “overweight” to “market weight”. The two targets thus converge in a range of €130 to €140, above the day's price.
On valuation, the consensus of the analysts covered values the stock at approximately 152.8 times earnings for the current fiscal year and 33.6 times those of the following fiscal year.
A decline of nearly 30% in one month, but a MA200 still well below the price
