Soitec Shares Surge Nearly 9% After Analyst Target Raised to €200
The Isère-based semiconductor substrate specialist leads the SBF 120 this Wednesday. By midday, its share price had jumped to €155.60, up 8.7% from the previous day, following a dramatic target price increase by Morgan Stanley.
Morgan Stanley Raises Soitec Target from €70 to €200
The American bank has raised its target on Soitec from €70 to €200 a few hours ago, accompanying its view with an 'overweight' rating. At the current price of €155.60, the new target offers a theoretical upside potential of about 28.5%. The stock thus continues the rebound that began yesterday. The session is explosive: Soitec posts the highest rise in the SBF 120, ahead of Exail Technologies (+7.67%) and STMicroelectronics (+5.06%), in a broadly advancing index that is up 0.67%. Over three months, the share price has more than quadrupled (+326%). Over one year, the performance has reached 190%. Analyst recommendations have significantly shifted during this rally, after successive passes above €160, €170, and then €180 in May. According to reviewed statements, net short positions still total 3.48% of the capital, up by 0.76 points over a month. The main declared sellers are Two Sigma Investments (1.60%), Numeric Investors (0.67%), and Walleye Capital (0.64%).
Share Price Tests €171.35 Resistance After Technical Surge
In terms of indicators, the stock is trading well above its moving averages. The 20-day moving average is at €135.43, nearly 15% below the current price. The 200-day moving average stands at €47.80, illustrating the steepness of the rally over the last three months. The RSI at 60 is still distant from the extreme overbought zones observed at the end of April when it crossed 86. The next identified resistance is at €171.35, about 10% above the current price, corresponding to the zone of historical peaks recorded in early May (intraday record at €180 on May 11). The one-month volatility is at 25.9%, reflecting still high session amplitude. The financial calendar is packed in the very short term. The company will publish its annual results for 2026 on May 27, followed by its first-quarter 2027 revenue on July 29. These two dates will be the next factual milestones for shareholders.
