SPIE Acquires Swiss Nimeg AG to Strengthen Its Life Sciences Division
SPIE has recently announced the acquisition of Nimeg AG, a Swiss engineering and project management specialist in GMP environments for the pharmaceutical and biotechnological industry. This move allows the group to expand its capabilities in the rapidly growing life sciences sector.
A Targeted Acquisition in GMP Engineering in Switzerland
SPIE has acquired Nimeg AG, a company based in Baden-Dättwil in the canton of Aargau, specializing in engineering, planning, and project management in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) environments for EPCMV (Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management and Validation) projects. Nimeg AG provides top-tier clients in the pharmaceutical, chemical, biotechnological, and medical technology sectors with engineering expertise in planning and managing complex GMP projects. In 2025, Nimeg AG generated a revenue of approximately €5 million. Jan Paul-Hengstler, CEO of Nimeg AG, believes that this integration into SPIE will allow the company to 'deliver even larger and more technically demanding projects' and to 'carry out complete EPCMV projects as a general contractor in the Swiss market'.
An Expansion of EPC Capabilities in Switzerland
This acquisition is part of a strategy to combine the skills between SPIE and Nimeg AG. Alf Kain, CEO of SPIE Life Science Engineering GmbH, points out that the group can now 'offer EPC projects as a general contractor in the Swiss market and provide seamless end-to-end solutions' to clients in the life sciences sector. Rainer Hollang, CEO of SPIE Germany Switzerland Austria, and Dennis Mausberg, CEO of the Operational Division Industry Services & Wind and member of the management board of SPIE Germany Switzerland Austria, welcome this integration and the deepening of the group's industrial expertise in the expanding life sciences sector.
SPIE Consolidates Its Presence in Industrial Services
SPIE, an independent European leader in multi-technical services in energy and communications, employs 55,000 people. The group achieved a consolidated revenue of €10.4 billion and a consolidated EBITA of €793 million in 2025.
