Stellantis Opens Its First Vehicle Dismantling Center in Africa in Casablanca
On Wednesday, Stellantis launched its first vehicle dismantling center in North Africa located in Casablanca, Morocco. This center is part of the regional deployment of the group's circular economy strategy, driven by its SUSTAINera division.
A Third Global Center for Automotive Deconstruction
The Casablanca center is Stellantis' third dismantling site globally, following Turin (Italy) and São Paulo (Brazil), and the first to be established in the Middle East and Africa. It is designed to serve Morocco and West Africa, and acts as a regional industrial catalyst to structure circular economy activities throughout the region. According to Samir Cherfan, Chief Operating Officer for the Middle East and Africa, the circular economy is a strategic priority that allows for 'combining industrial performance, accessibility for customers, and responsible resource use.'

The site handles sourcing, dismantling end-of-life vehicles, marketing used parts, and collecting parts for recycling. It targets a dismantling capacity of up to 10,000 vehicles per year, with about 150 direct and indirect jobs at full capacity. The investment made amounts to 1.6 million euros for a 6,000 square meter site. The center is part of a comprehensive approach covering the entire lifecycle of parts and vehicles, through remanufacturing, reuse, and recycling. These offerings are distributed via the Stellantis after-sales network, partner repairers, and Distrigo hubs.
