Wendel shares stall at their €89.90 resistance after a 12% gain over one month
The Paris-based investment holding company is in negative territory in a session clearly tilted to the downside. The decline follows a month of strong gains, and the stock remains above its three moving averages.
The pullback ends a streak of gains, just below the €89.90 resistance
The share price of Wendel fell 2.22% to €87.90, compared with €89.90 the previous day, a level that corresponds to the resistance identified by the indicators: the stock hit it before retreating. It is still up more than 12% over one month, which limits the significance of the day's decline, and it remains above its three moving averages (MA20 at €83.79, or 4.91% below the share price, MA50 at €82.92 and MA200 at €83.82).
The RSI at 66 signals a configuration close to overbought territory after this rise, but without excess at this stage.
In the SBF 120 ranking, the stock is far from the extremes of the session: the index fell 1.64% and the CAC 40 fell 1.63%, at a time when Wall Street dropped more than 4% on Thursday and Asia extended its decline on Friday morning.
NAV up 5.1% and a share buyback programme under way
On the fundamentals, Wendel's net asset value stood at €167 per share as of 30 September, up 5.1% over the quarter, according to the publication of 22 October. The share price of €87.90 remains well below this value.
The company had also crystallised approximately €1.6bn in liquidity from the disposals of Stahl and IHS, 20% above the NAV, according to the 9M 2026 results published on 22 October.
In parallel, the €340m share buyback programme, announced on 22 June 2026, was approximately 11% executed as of 31 July, with €36m repurchased.
Analyst opinions can be found on the stock's analyst consensus page. The technical level to watch remains the €89.90 resistance, which the stock tested before its decline today.
