DSM-Firmenich Appoints Nikeisha van Sleeuwen as Head of Human Resources
The Swiss-Dutch group DSM-Firmenich has announced the appointment of Nikeisha van Sleeuwen as the new Director of Human Resources, effective April 1, 2026. She succeeds Mieke Van de Capelle, who is retiring after a decade with the company.
Executive Promotion
Nikeisha van Sleeuwen, currently Senior Vice President of Talent & Culture and Global Compensation at DSM-Firmenich, will join the executive committee as Chief Human Resources Officer, the company stated. With over 20 years of HR leadership experience in the USA and Europe, she began her career at the company nearly two decades ago. Previously, she served as Senior Vice President of HR for the Animal Nutrition & Health division, where she worked with leaders to support organizational performance and business transformation. Nikeisha van Sleeuwen holds degrees from Ramapo College of New Jersey and Cornell ILR.
A Decade of Leadership
Mieke Van de Capelle will step down on March 31, 2026, after leading the human resources function for a decade marked by significant transformations, the announcement detailed. She notably steered the successful integration of DSM-Firmenich, which emerged from the merger between DSM and Firmenich, leaving behind what leadership calls a first-class HR organization. The company noted that under her leadership, significant progress was made in employee engagement and skill development. Dimitri de Vreeze, CEO of DSM-Firmenich, praised her in the statement as a foundational leader for the company, highlighting her professional excellence and dedication to employees.
