JCDecaux Renews Exclusive Contract with STIB in Brussels
JCDecaux SE has announced that it has won an eight-year contract, renewable twice for two years each, to operate advertising spaces in the STIB public transport network in Brussels, according to the group's statement.
Contract Details and Innovations
JCDecaux SE secured a tender for an eight-year contract, extendable to twelve years, with STIB, the Brussels Intercommunal Transport Company. Starting from February 26, 2026, JCDecaux will manage the installation of 180 to 200 new digital information screens across 26 STIB stations, replacing the existing fixtures. Four iconic LED screens and five digital cubes will be installed in the busiest stations such as Arts-Loi, Louise, and Schuman. Additionally, 80 interactive information kiosks will be set up to enhance communication with passengers. The company will also handle the operation and maintenance of advertising space on the 1,300 trams and buses of STIB, as well as 900 analog posters and 1,500 frames in subway stations.
Advanced Technology Integration
Equipped with the latest technologies, the new 75-inch screens will offer higher resolution while consuming less energy. They will be integrated into JCDecaux's Adtech ecosystem, enabling the activation of effective and targeted advertising campaigns, connected to VIOOH (SSP) and Displayce (DSP) suites. This DooH network aims to deliver the right message at the right time and place through real-time targeting and contextualization capabilities.
STIB Network and Strategic Impact
The STIB network serves 19 municipalities in the Brussels-Capital region and 11 surrounding municipalities, reaching nearly 1.1 million people each day. According to JCDecaux, the network has seen a 70% increase in its number of users over the past ten years. True to its strategy focused on technological innovation and quality, JCDecaux aims to enhance the passenger experience and brand visibility while adhering to commitments to sustainable development. As a leader in outdoor advertising in Brussels, JCDecaux offers a premium position with advertising concessions in strategic locations such as airports and shopping centers.
