Michelin Launches New Anakee Adventure 2 Motorcycle Tire
On January 15, the French manufacturer introduced the Michelin Anakee Adventure 2, a tire designed for adventure motorcycles, primarily for road use with off-road capabilities. This launch is part of the company's strategy to strengthen its position in the adventure segment by 2030.
Designed for the Road, Ready for the Trail
The Michelin Anakee Adventure 2 is aimed at riders who primarily seek road usage while maintaining capabilities for off-road excursions, according to the press release. The company states that this new tire has been developed to reduce noise pollution, enhance stability, and boost rider confidence, resulting in reduced fatigue. The improvements are based on internal tests conducted under controlled and real conditions, compared to the previous generation of the Anakee Adventure tire. Amanda Wemette, head of motorcycle branding for Michelin North America, describes this launch as a key milestone in the group's global strategy for the trail segment.
Compatible with a Wide Range of Adventure Motorcycles
The new tire is compatible with a broad array of adventure motorcycles on the market, the manufacturer specifies. The list includes models such as the BMW R1250 and R1300GS, Honda Africa Twin, Yamaha Tenere, Ducati Multistrada, Triumph Tiger, KTM Super Adventure, Suzuki V-Strom, Aprilia Tuareg, Moto Guzzi V85, and Kawasaki Versys. This extensive coverage aims to meet the needs of users in this rapidly growing segment. According to Michelin, the tire incorporates advanced technological innovations developed by the group, though no further details on these technologies were provided in the release.
Part of a Global Strategy to Dominate the Adventure Segment by 2030
The launch of the Anakee Adventure 2 is part of a comprehensive plan to position Michelin as a major player in the adventure segment by 2030, according to the company. The tire complements the existing Adventure Touring range from the manufacturer. The product is now available worldwide through Michelin's authorized distributor network. The group, based in Greenville, South Carolina for its North American operations, employs about 23,500 people and operates 36 production sites in the United States and Canada. Michelin notes that it has been developing polymer composite materials for over 130 years.
