Ontex Introduces Sensitive Range for Incontinence Care
Ontex announces the launch of a new adult incontinence product line called Sensitive, designed to provide superior protection while preserving skin health. This launch is in response to the findings of a European study highlighting the significant impact of dermatitis on the quality of life of incontinent individuals.
Introduction of the Sensitive Range
The Sensitive range includes three products: Sensitive Pants, Sensitive Slip, and Sensitive Form, aimed at health institutions in Europe. According to research conducted by Ontex involving more than 2,500 individuals with incontinence, nearly one in two has experienced dermatitis or skin irritation in the intimate area, significantly affecting comfort, confidence, and well-being. The range combines incontinence protection with dermatological care designed to prevent irritation and maintain good skin condition.
Training Programs for Caregivers
Ontex complements the launch of the Sensitive range with training programs for caregivers. The company offers educational support through its network of advisory nurses and its online learning platform, Ontex Academy, focusing on the recognition, prevention, and treatment of incontinence-related dermatitis. This initiative addresses a finding from the study: approximately 80% of caregivers are not trained to recognize dermatitis.
