Pernod Ricard shares fall 2% after a 21% rebound over one month
The spirits group is in negative territory, in a Paris market hard hit by the global correction in technology stocks. The decline follows a sharp monthly rebound that had moved it away from its recent lows.
Pernod Ricard shares are down 2.01% at €70.22 intraday, while the CAC 40 loses 1.65% amid risk aversion following the heavy session on Wall Street.
The stock is still up 20.99% over one month and 7.53% over the week, so this decline only erodes part of the rally. It is trading above its three moving averages, including the 20-day moving average at €67.35 (a gap of 4.26%), and is approaching resistance at €71.66, the level of the previous day's close.
Remy Cointreau, another spirits stock, falls 1.43% this Friday after a one-month gain of 24.34%.

On October 15, the group had published organic sales down 0.9% in the first quarter, held back by the United States (-10%) and China (-25%). The company described an contrasted and uncertain environment, while citing the return to growth in underlying sales in China ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival and a 19% increase in India.
At the end of October, it also bought back €1.22 billion of bonds following a €1.5 billion hybrid issue. The RSI at 63 remains in neutral territory, far from an exhaustion of the upward move.
