Safran Inaugurates Its Largest Global LEAP Engine Maintenance Center in Hyderabad
The French aerospace group Safran has inaugurated a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) center in India dedicated to LEAP engines, spanning 45,000 square meters. This 200 million euro investment represents the largest facility of its kind globally for this engine family. The facility aims to support the rapid growth of the Indian aerospace market, both civilian and military.
Located in Hyderabad, this new MRO center boasts significant industrial capabilities. The site will be able to maintain 300 LEAP engines per year, a rate that reflects Safran's ambitions in the region. The facility will employ up to 1,100 people and includes a training center designed to host over 100 Indian technicians and engineers annually. This internal training structure is a key element of the setup, ensuring local skill development and operational autonomy of the site. The operation is part of the group's strategy to strengthen its local industrial presence in a country where the aerospace sector is experiencing sustained expansion.
