SES Stock Continues to Decline After -42.5% in Three Months
The Luxembourg-based satellite operator is experiencing another difficult session on Wednesday, amplifying a downward trend that has taken hold over several weeks. The decline occurs within an SBF 120 itself under pressure, with a drop of nearly 2% during the session.
A 3.4% Decline That Pushes the Stock Below All Three Moving Averages
SES loses 3.4% to €4.72 during the session, in a market already weakened by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and rising bond yields. This new decline is part of a severe quarterly dynamic: the stock falls 42.55% over three months, a pressure that contrasts with the modest 2.08% rebound posted over the week. The price is now trading well below the three reference moving averages — at €5.04 for the 20-day MA (difference of 6.31%), at €6.21 for the 50-day MA (difference of nearly 24%) and at €6.55 for the 200-day MA (difference of nearly 28%) — testifying to a fundamental deterioration that goes beyond a simple session setback. Only the support level at €4.63 now constitutes a reference floor nearby, less than one euro from the current price.
An RSI at 36 Reflecting Persistent Selling Bias Since Summer
The RSI at 36 remains anchored in low territory without reaching outright oversold conditions, which reflects continuous selling pressure rather than a sudden bearish exhaustion. This profile echoes that observed during the passage into extreme oversold territory in late August, when the stock had briefly touched €4.82 before rebounding. Since then, attempts at recovery, such as the near 6% rebound achieved in early September following the contract with the Peruvian Navy, have failed to reverse the trend.
The decline during the September 4 session had already erased part of this gain. On the volatility side, the VIX advances nearly 8% during the session to 16.52, a sign of increased nervousness across markets. The €4.63 support level remains the level to watch: a downward break would mechanically extend the deterioration phase that began from the peak of €8.26 recorded in May 2026.
