Wendel Plans to Return 1.6 Billion Euros to Shareholders by 2030
Wendel aims to generate over 7 billion euros in cash by the end of 2030, with 1.6 billion expected to be returned to shareholders, according to the press release.
Strategic Transformation and Financial Projections
Over the past three years, Wendel has undergone a significant strategic transformation, evolving from a traditional investment holding to a global investment company focused on controlled private assets. This shift aims to generate more than 7 billion euros in cash by the end of 2030, the company states. Of these funds, over 1.6 billion euros will be returned to shareholders. The strategy is based on two value creation drivers: asset management for third parties (WIM) and direct investment management (WPI). These activities are expected to provide recurrent cash generation and the potential for capital gains, thus supporting an attractive shareholder return policy.
Expansion of Wendel Investment Managers (WIM)
Wendel Investment Managers (WIM) aims to manage over 46 billion euros in assets following the acquisition of Committed Advisors. The company expects that management fee-related revenues (FRE) will exceed 200 million euros by 2026. WIM anticipates an average organic growth of 15% per year in FRE by the end of 2030. Additionally, WIM will participate in the performance generated by the managed funds, which could represent about 300 million euros for upcoming fund raises. WIM also plans to buy out minority stakes in IK Partners, Monroe Capital, and Committed Advisors, while exploring external growth opportunities.
Optimizing Investments through Wendel Principal Investments (WPI)
Wendel Principal Investments (WPI) has entrusted IK Partners with an advisory mandate to optimize the management of its investments. The WPI portfolio, regularly assessed against stock market comparables, will continue to be dynamically managed until the end of 2030. WPI aims to make direct investments of approximately 300 million euros per year per operation, with an average annual growth in the intrinsic value of assets between 12% and 16%. The generated funds will allow more than 2.5 billion euros to be invested in WIM and about 1.7 billion euros in direct investments, while returning over 1.6 billion euros to shareholders, particularly through dividends and share buybacks.
