After -51% in three months, SES share rebounds nearly 4% ahead of dividend ex-date
The Luxembourg-based satellite operator is recovering during midday trading, in a Paris market slightly oriented upward. The rebound is among the strongest in the index, following a slide of several months and ahead of its dividend ex-date.
A rebound of nearly 4% that erases only a small portion of the quarterly decline
The SES share gains 3.93% to €3.76, compared with 0.28% for the SBF 120, placing it among the strongest gainers in the index. This rebound is modest compared to the decline of 51.23% over three months and 20.75% over one month. The price remains far from its moving averages: the 20-day MA at €4.38 is 14.20% above, the 50-day MA at €4.80 is 21.71%, and the 200-day MA at €6.44 is 41.65% above.
The security is holding near the support level of €3.75, with an RSI at 29, close to the oversold zone. This movement extends a series of difficult sessions. On October 1st, the share fell below its support of €4.28, before entering oversold territory a few days later.
Dividend ex-date is tomorrow, bond buyback was completed on October 5th
The dividend will be ex-dated on October 14th and paid on October 15th. The group had indicated it aims for at least €0.50 per A-share for 2026. The ex-date will mechanically push the price down by an equivalent amount, without this reflecting a market movement.
On the debt side, SES had set on October 5th the price of its offer to repurchase the 2027 bond at 97.33% of par, and accepted €363.4 million of securities tendered. The €31 million share buyback program, launched in June, was approximately 6% executed by early August. The dividend ex-date tomorrow will therefore be the next scheduled event, as the security tests its €3.75 support level.
