Airbus share breaks through 196 € support and loses nearly 3 %
The European aircraft manufacturer is among the values under pressure on the CAC 40 this Wednesday, in a Paris market itself showing a sharp decline. The stock has been losing ground for several weeks and has just broken through a technical threshold being monitored, as Airbus participates today in Bernstein's European strategic conference.
A 196.18 € support broken during the session, under pressure from moving averages
Airbus is declining by 2.95 % to 194.78 € during trading, moving below its 196.18 € support level, which the stock broke through to the downside during the session. This breakthrough worsens an already deteriorated configuration: the price is trading below the MA20 (205.16 €, a difference of -5.06 %) and below the MA50 (204.17 €, a difference of -4.60 %), two moving averages that are exerting downward pressure in the short and medium term. Only the MA200 at 189.88 € remains below the current price, offering a cushion of 2.58 % relative to the current level.
In this environment, the RSI at 45 remains in neutral territory, with no oversold signal for now. The next resistance to monitor is located at 215.40 €, representing a gap of more than 10 % above the current price. Over the past month, the stock has declined by 8.81 %, although the three-month performance remains positive at +10.07 %.
Favorable analyst views and Bernstein conference in the background
In this decline, analyst sentiment remains favorable on the stock. CIC Market Solutions maintains a buy rating with a price target of 240.00 €, confirmed twice on September 7 and 8, 2026, representing an upside potential of approximately 23 % compared to current levels. This context is unfolding as Airbus participates today in the Bernstein's European Strategic Decisions Conference. Furthermore, the order book remains solid: during the publication of first-half 2026 results (July 29, 2026), the group displayed 9,222 aircraft on order, with Defence and Space orders rising sharply to 9.3 billion euros.
The ramp-up of the A320 towards 70 to 75 units per month by the end of 2027 was one of the growth drivers highlighted at that time. During trading, the CAC 40 is down 1.87 %, dragging several industrial values along with it, and Airbus is among the most marked declines on the index. The next technical support zone to monitor remains the MA200 at 189.88 €.
