Amundi tokenizes a share of its STOXX Europe 600 fund on the Ethereum blockchain
In a press release published on 5 November 2026, Amundi announced the issuance, on the public Ethereum blockchain, of a tokenized share of its Amundi Core STOXX Europe 600 fund, which invests in European equities. The operation was carried out with CACEIS, whose technology and infrastructure enable the tokenization of fund shares.
After cash management, tokenization extends to equity index funds
Until now applied by Amundi to cash management solutions, tokenization is now extending to index investing. The asset manager sees in this “an important new step in its digital asset strategy”, in service of its objective to “connect traditional investment solutions to new digital market infrastructures”.
This launch follows several advances made in recent months: a first tokenized share class of a money market fund, followed by the opening of subscriptions to this fund through stablecoins.
Added to this is a series of partnerships with digital players, large companies and financial institutions, aimed at testing concrete applications of distributed ledger technology.
A share backed by the existing fund, a tokenized range in progress
The new share remains fully integrated into the fund's existing operating model, which remains accessible through traditional channels. Amundi describes a “gradual approach”, conducted “within a framework that is robust from regulatory, operational and risk management perspectives”.
The asset manager aims to gradually develop a range of tokenized funds meeting the needs of institutional clients and digital platforms. It highlights the automation of certain processes, improved accessibility, faster settlement and greater transparency.
According to Amundi, tokenized fund shares should open new prospects in digital distribution and applications across different asset classes, as market infrastructures and regulatory frameworks evolve.
