Carrefour Buys Back €200M in Bonds and Issues €750M Due in 2034
Carrefour announced on Wednesday the successful buyback of €200 million in bonds maturing in 2027 and 2028. This operation is part of a strategy to optimize the maturity profile of the group's debt.
Two Series of Bonds Bought Back and Cancelled
The group accepted a total amount of €200 million in bonds submitted to the offer, covering its 2.625% bonds due December 2027 and its sustainability-linked 4.125% bonds due October 2028. All purchased bonds will be cancelled. The settlement of this operation is scheduled for June 5, 2026. This operation allows Carrefour to optimize the maturity profile of its debt and its liquidity, according to the group.
Issuance of €750M in Sustainability Bonds
The bond buyback is part of a broader strategy to adjust the financial structure. Carrefour has also successfully placed €750 million in new 'Sustainability-Linked' fixed coupon bonds at 3.875% maturing in June 2034. These securities will be admitted for trading on Euronext Paris on June 4, 2026.
