Elis stock rebounds by nearly 5%, RSI in extreme oversold at 19
The specialist in textile rental and maintenance services is experiencing a sharp rebound this Tuesday, in a nearly stable Paris market. This surge comes as the security has posted a heavy performance in recent weeks, with a decline of nearly 10% over one month and more than 18% over three months.
A rebound of nearly 5% that propels Elis among the strongest gainers of the SBF 120
Elis stock gains 4.86% to €22.00 during trading, posting one of the strongest advances of the SBF 120 this Tuesday morning, in an index advancing 0.08%. This rebound contrasts with the trend of recent weeks: the security is still down 3.42% over seven days and loses nearly 10% over one month, in a context of sustained pressure since this summer. The technical configuration remains under tension.
The price is trading below the three reference moving averages: the MA20 at €23.27, the MA50 at €24.33 and the MA200 at €25.39, representing respective gaps of -5.46%, -9.58% and -13.35%. The RSI at 19 materializes an extreme oversold condition, rarely reached, which signals an exhaustion of sellers rather than an established trend reversal. It is precisely from this very depressed level that today's rebound is gaining momentum, with the price retesting the support level of €20.98 — the level corresponding to the previous close — before clearly moving back above it.
Rising bearish positions and cautious 2026 guidance as backdrop
This rebound occurs in a context where short sellers have significantly reinforced their positions in the security. According to filed declarations, five funds collectively hold 4.81% of Elis sold short, up 1.71 percentage points over thirty days (compared to 3.10% a month ago). This level, among the highest in the segment, reflects persistent institutional downward pressure: several funds are betting on further decline in the security, which can amplify movements in both directions — upward as well as downward — during technical rebound sessions.
On a fundamental basis, when publishing first-half 2026 results on July 29, the group indicated it anticipates annual organic revenue growth slightly lower than that recorded in 2025, a decidedly cautious tone that had contributed to weighing on the price since summer. Furthermore, the early redemption of OCEANEs 2029, scheduled for October 13, constitutes a short-term monitoring point for bondholders, who retain the possibility of converting their securities until the deadline. The analysts' consensus on the security remains a reference point to follow in this context of marked decline over three months.
