Two Sovereign Algorithms Tested Under Real Conditions

Dassault Aviation indicated that it tested two new sovereign artificial intelligence algorithms in flight on the Rafale. The first was developed by the company's engineers. The second was developed in collaboration with Thales/cortAIx.

According to the group, these new functions have reached a level of maturity that makes them eligible for the next Rafale evolutions. Their development is part of a comprehensive approach aimed at integrating into the cockpit a controlled and supervised AI in service of the human crew.

The Constraints Specific to Military Aviation

Dassault Aviation presents this in-flight demonstration as a new demonstration of its expertise in integrating AI into combat systems. The group recalls that this know-how requires mastering several specific issues.

Among these, the company cites the availability and quality of operational data (real or simulated), the capitalization and synergy of business expertise, as well as the frugality of resources on an embedded platform subject to heavy constraints. These challenges are presented as stemming from its experience as an industrial architect and integrator of complex systems.
