Icade and Vilogia: the Descartes student residence in Longuenesse to be delivered in 2027
Icade and Vilogia marked progress on the construction site of the Descartes residence in Longuenesse, dedicated to students and young professionals. The project is part of Icade Promotion's strategic focus on territories in the North and Grand Ouest regions.
The Descartes residence, acquired by Vilogia, will comprise 103 housing units, including 70 student studios subsidized under PLS (Social Rental Loan) and 33 apartments intended for young professionals subsidized under PLAI (Integration Social Rental Loan) and PLUS (Social Use Rental Loan).
The complex will offer various services, including a laundry facility, a bicycle storage area and access to a common room. The project includes the creation of 31 outdoor parking spaces, including 2 disabled access spaces.
Located on René Descartes Avenue, the residence benefits from proximity to student facilities, such as the IUT, as well as the Saint-Omer employment basin. Delivery is scheduled for June 2027.

The project proposes contemporary architecture designed to coexist with the existing context. All non-built spaces and spaces not dedicated to parking will be landscaped, representing approximately 3,000 m² of in-ground green spaces, and 16 trees will be planted.
The selected vegetation will consist exclusively of local species. According to Jérémy Buisine, Regional Director for the Hauts-de-France region at Icade Promotion, the project was realized within tight timeframes compared to usual standards, thanks to collaboration with the City of Longuenesse and the Saint-Omer Country Agglomeration Community (CAPSO).
