Nacon: Revenue Down 13% in Second Quarter, Hampered by New Games
Nacon published on October 26, 2026 a revenue of €40.7 million for the second quarter of its 2026-2027 fiscal year, compared to €46.8 million a year earlier. This decline is primarily due to new games, whose sales fell 40% against a comparison base that concentrated the three main releases of the previous fiscal year. Accessories, catalog backlist and ancillary activities are up.
This publication takes place within the framework of the judicial recovery procedure opened on March 2, 2026 by the commercial court of Lille Métropole. The group indicated that it will shortly submit to the court a recovery plan including a restructuring of its liabilities.
New Games Down 40%, Accessories Reach €11.6 Million
In the second quarter (July to September), Games activity declined 24.4%, to €27.8 million from €36.7 million. The gap stems from new games, which generated €13.7 million in sales versus €22.8 million. The catalog backlist (games released in previous fiscal years) remained stable at €14.1 million versus €14.0 million, an increase of 0.9%.
Accessories increased 28.7%, to €11.6 million from €9.0 million. They represent just over a quarter of quarterly sales. Other activities (mobile and audio) reached €1.3 million, compared to €1.0 million.
For the entire first half, revenue totaled €73.3 million, down 6.1% compared to €78.1 million in the previous fiscal year. The first quarter had increased 4.1%, to €32.6 million.
High Comparison Base for Games, U.S. Market Recovery for Accessories
Nacon attributes the decline in new games to a high comparison base. The second quarter of fiscal year 2025-2026 had concentrated the three main releases of that fiscal year: Hell is Us, Rugby League and RoboCop: Rogue City - Unfinished Business. Over the period, the group marketed The Mound, which it presents as already ranking among its most significant launches, as well as Tour de France 26.
The half-year reading complements that of the quarter. The catalog backlist advances 16.4% over six months, to €32.6 million, while new games decline 38.3%, to €17.5 million. Accessories show an increase of 4.6% for the half-year, to €20.8 million, following growth concentrated in the second quarter alone.
For accessories, the company highlights the recovery of the U.S. market and the success of new RIG headset lines.
Headcount Reduced to 814 Employees, Recovery Plan to Be Filed Soon
The redeployment plan, presented by the group as aimed at improving its profitability and agility, is structured around two axes. The first is the refocusing of the development studios perimeter, with the effective closure of three entities and a restructuring finalized in two studios. The second concerns cost optimization.
Headcount decreased from 1,125 employees on March 31, 2026 to 814 on September 30, 2026, with a 28% reduction at headquarters. Marketing expenses were adjusted to the new perimeter. The group had detailed on September 22, 2026 the main terms and deadlines of its financial restructuring. The observation period was extended until March 2, 2027 by a judgment of July 1, 2026.
For the third quarter, Nacon will rely on year-end sales and several releases: MXGP 26, launched October 1st, Hunting Simulator 3, expected October 29th, and Edge of Memories, planned for December 3rd. On the accessories side, the Revolution 5 Unlimited controller, presented on October 2, 2026 at the suggested retail price of €199.99, is added to the new RIG headsets. Results for the first half of 2026-2027 will be published on November 30, 2026 after market close.
