Philips Extends Patient Monitoring from Hospital to Home Through Six Partnerships
The Dutch group is expanding its patient surveillance network beyond the hospital bed by integrating wearable technologies and home monitoring solutions from several specialized companies.
Six Collaborations to Connect Hospital and Home
Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA) announced on August 6, 2026 new collaborations with Blue Spark Technologies, Caretaker Medical, Cuviva, LifeSignals, Respiree and smartQare. These partnerships aim to integrate wearable technologies and out-of-hospital monitoring solutions into Philips' open monitoring ecosystem.
According to the group, the objective is to help healthcare systems improve the continuity and coordination of care by ensuring connected patient surveillance from hospital to home.
Wearable Devices Integrated into Philips Platform
The partnerships expand the range of continuous measurements that can be integrated into the Philips ecosystem, including the Patient Information Center (PIC) iX. Blue Spark Technologies provides the TempTraq disposable patch for body temperature monitoring, Caretaker Medical the VitalStream solution for non-invasive blood pressure measurement, and Cuviva a home hospitalization platform.
LifeSignals integrates its UbiqVue multiparametric biosensor, Respiree its 1Bio platform associated with the RS001 sensor, and smartQare its viQtor and Healthdot biosensors for heart rate, respiration, SpO2 and activity monitoring.
Monitoring Extended Beyond Hospital Discharge
These capabilities complement Philips' connected care portfolio, which includes mobile cardiac telemetry (MCOT). This solution enables clinicians to remotely monitor certain cardiac patients for up to 30 days following an evaluation at a facility or emergency department.
These announcements continue the group's recent developments in monitoring, following FDA approval of its reusable pulse oximetry sensor announced in late July 2026.
