S.E.B. stock declines by 2% and returns to contact with its 20-day moving average
The small appliance manufacturer is posting a marked decline this Wednesday in a European market broadly oriented downward. The pullback occurs as the security maintains contact with its twenty-day moving average, in a tense geopolitical context in the Middle East.
A marked decline that places S.E.B. among the most pronounced declines of the SBF 120
S.E.B. loses 2.06% to €59.30 during the session, compared to a closing price of €60.55 the previous day, and ranks among the strongest declines of the SBF 120. The CAC 40 and SBF 120 for their part decline by 0.36% and 0.37% respectively, so the stock's pullback is significantly more pronounced than that of the index. In the background, the VIX surges more than 10% during the session, signaling a rise in risk aversion linked to military escalation between Iran and the United States, which saw Tehran strike American installations in Jordan, Iraq and Bahrain on Wednesday.
Over the rolling week, the security remains marginally positive (+0.68%), but it maintains above all a gain of more than 20% over the last three months, reflecting the powerful rally launched in spring. This surge had been fueled, in particular, by solid quarterly results published in late April, then by well-received half-yearly results in late July.
The 20-day moving average in contact with the price, the security is blocked at its €60.95 resistance level
The price of €59.30 is evolving almost directly in line with the 20-day moving average at €59.09, representing a gap of just 0.36%. This tight contact with the short-term moving average reflects a fragile equilibrium point: today's decline brings the security back from the resistance zone at €60.95, against which it was already bumping in early August, toward this 20-day moving average floor. More fundamentally, the 50-day moving average at €54.23 and the 200-day moving average at €50.47 remain well below the current price, confirming that the underlying trend remains bullish despite the intraday correction.
The RSI at 62, although slightly away from the overbought threshold, remains in positive territory and consistent with a security that has advanced more than 20% in three months without signs of major technical exhaustion. According to the consensus of surveyed analysts, the security is trading at around 9.8 times the profits expected for the current fiscal year, and 7.5 times those of the following fiscal year, a valuation that testifies to market expectations being modest at this stage. The key support level is at €49, well below the current price.
