SES to Equip 100 Airbus Planes of Viva with In-Flight Satellite Connectivity
SES and Viva, the Mexican low-cost airline, are launching a multi-orbit satellite inflight connectivity service on board Airbus fleet planes. The rollout will include 60 Airbus A320s and 40 A321s in the coming years.
SES, a provider of space solutions, and Viva are finalizing their inflight connectivity agreement. The service utilizes SES's electronically steered antenna (ESA) technology, which is less than seven centimeters high, capable of connecting to satellites in different orbits to ensure reliable and constant coverage, regardless of geographic location.
Viva becomes the first airline based in Mexico to offer this service. Its fleet includes the newest Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft in Latin America.
