Vivendi shares at the bottom of the SBF 120, but still 16.5% ahead over one month
The media and entertainment group falls sharply intraday, in a Paris market driven by the global correction in technology stocks. This decline follows a marked rebound over recent weeks, which had brought the stock back toward its recent highs.
An intraday decline that leaves the stock above its short-term moving averages
Vivendi shares fall 4.23% to €1.65, placing them among the largest decliners in the SBF 120, in an index that is down 1.66%.
The stock nonetheless remains 5.2% above its 20-day moving average (MM20) and 8.7% above its 50-day moving average (MM50), a gain that stems from the 16.6% rise recorded over one month. It had reached a 30-session high of €1.74 the previous day, and this level, close to resistance at €1.73, partly explains today's decline.
The 200-day moving average (MM200) at €1.91 remains 13.5% above the share price, with the stock still down 45.2% over one year.
A Paris session weighed down by the correction in technology stocks
The CAC 40 is down 1.65% mid-session, while Wall Street suffered on Thursday its sharpest correction since April 2025, with the Nasdaq falling 5.52%. Stocks linked to artificial intelligence and semiconductors led the decline, and the Nikkei then lost 5.96% on Friday.
The VIX jumped to 26.62, against 16.61 the previous day. On the rates side, the 10-year French OAT stands at 4.75% according to the November 5 reading, with a spread of 1.48 points against the Bund. For Vivendi, resistance at €1.73 and support at €1.41 now define the stock's reference zone.
