Vusion share falls 3.5% but remains among the strongest gains over 3 months
After surging more than 10% on Tuesday, driven by the publication of its half-year results, Vusion share lost momentum on Thursday and gave back part of the gains accumulated at the start of the week. The decline comes in a Paris market itself under pressure, while two analyst opinions dated yesterday paint a contrasting picture of the stock.
A pullback that brings the share back to its 135 € resistance level
Vusion fell 3.33% to 130.50 € during the session, returning to the previous day's level (135 €) which precisely corresponds to the resistance threshold identified by technical analysis. The share is thus at the contact of this zone after briefly breaking through it during Tuesday's September 22nd session. Despite this pullback, the configuration remains constructive on short-term horizons: Vusion is up nearly 12.7% over seven days, a sign that the post-results rebound still dominates the weekly balance sheet.
The price remains above the 20-day moving average at 122.67 € (spread of +6.38%) and the 50-day moving average at 125.96 € (spread of +3.60%), which places the value in a consolidation zone above its short and medium-term averages, even though it remains below the 200-day moving average at 133.73 €. The RSI at 65 reflects still-present bullish momentum, without reaching overbought territory. Over three months, the gain remains at 10.13%, confirming a gradual recovery from summer lows.
Divergent analyst opinions and short sellers in decline
Two revisions of analyst opinions were published yesterday on Vusion. Bernstein lowered its target from 180 € to 170 €, while maintaining its "outperform" opinion: at the current price of 130.50 €, the implicit upside potential remains around 30%. Alphavalue for its part slightly revised its target, from 66 € to 64.60 €, while maintaining a sell opinion, a level well below current prices. These two opposing views reflect the valuation gap that divides market participants on the stock, whose half-year results published on September 21st showed revenue up 34% and adjusted EBITDA of 160 M€.
Management had reiterated its annual targets at that time, with a comment "in line with our profitable growth objectives". On the short positions side, five funds collectively hold 3.48% of capital sold short according to registered declarations, down 0.72 percentage points over thirty days (compared to 4.20% a month ago): the bearish bet remains present at an elevated level, but pressure is gradually easing. Bernstein's price target of 170 € constitutes the next fundamental benchmark to monitor to measure the extent of the stock's potential revaluation.
