Among the strongest gains in the SBF 120, Atos Group stock rebounds nearly 3%
The information technology and cybersecurity services group is recovering sharply mid-session, in a rising Paris market. This renewed activity comes after a long series of declines and one week before the quarterly publication.
A rebound that barely reduces a quarterly decline of over 32%
The Atos stock gains 2.87% to €22.26, among the top performers in the SBF 120 which advances 0.61%. The movement barely mitigates a quarterly decline of -32.55%, and the stock remains 14.45% below its 50-day moving average (€26.02), which illustrates the extent of the downward trend. However, the price has just crossed back near its 20-day moving average (€22.51), from which it remains 1.11% below.
The session comes as the group has just moved to a unified global partnership with Fortinet, announced this Wednesday. This agreement replaces a country-by-country organization with a global engagement model, for reselling solutions and managed cybersecurity services.
Short positions at 3.7% of capital and third quarter results on October 21
Net declared short positions total 3.70% of capital, distributed among four funds, and have increased by 1.30 percentage points in one month. According to the statements consulted, this increase reflects institutional mistrust that has intensified on the stock. It says nothing about the precise motivations of the funds, some of which may also seek to hedge an existing exposure.
Today's rebound can be partly explained by short-seller buybacks, but the data does not allow this to be confirmed. At the first-half results, published on July 30, 2026, the group targeted organic growth of approximately -5% and an operating margin close to 7% of revenue. The next meeting falls on October 21, with third quarter 2026 results.
