Atos Group: Stock Rebounds 4.5% and Tops SBF 120 Gainers
The information technology and cybersecurity services group bounces back sharply in early afternoon trading, in a Paris market slightly oriented upwards. This recovery occurs after an extended decline and just days before the quarterly earnings release.
A rebound that brings the stock back above its 20-day moving average
Atos Group share gains 4.4% to €22.76 during the session, among the strongest gains in the SBF 120, while the index advances 0.38%. The price thus moves back above the 20-day MA (€22.15, 2.75% differential), but remains significantly below the 50-day MA at €25.63, which is 11.2% higher than the current price. The rebound occurs in a severely challenging quarter: the stock is still down 30.3% over three months, and the RSI at 38 has not yet left the lower zone. On a weekly basis, the gain reaches 6.85%.
Regarding short sellers, according to reviewed filings, four funds collectively hold 3.69% of capital, compared to 3.00% thirty days ago. This 0.69 percentage point increase reflects persistent caution surrounding the stock, without allowing us to infer the intentions of market participants. Today's movement thus occurs despite a bearish positioning that has somewhat strengthened.
Global partnership with Fortinet and October 21 earnings publication in focus
On October 14, Atos announced that its collaboration with Fortinet was transitioning from a country-by-country organizational model to a global engagement framework, covering the resale of solutions and managed cybersecurity services in hybrid and multicloud environments. This cybersecurity agreement extends a series of announcements in this business segment, slightly more than a week before results publication. When the company released its H1 2026 results on July 30, it had set organic revenue growth targets of approximately -5% and an operating margin of approximately 7%. These targets will need to be compared against third-quarter 2026 accounts, expected on October 21.
