Eiffage Stock Bounces Back Over 2% and Crosses Above its 200-Day Moving Average
The Paris-region constructor benefits from a strong midday rebound in the CAC 40, regaining ground after several weeks of consolidation. The stock recovers a short-term technical benchmark it had lost, in a Parisian market buoyed by a widespread surge.
Eiffage Stock Performance in Today's Session
Eiffage's stock is up 2.3% at €126.90 during the session, while the CAC 40 is up 1.69% and the SBF 120 is up 1.65%. The stock has moved above its 20-day moving average (€124.68) by 1.78%, after several sessions below this benchmark. The 200-day moving average at €123.46 is also surpassed, while the 50-day moving average (€132.70) remains distant, about 4.4% above the current price. The RSI at 43 indicates a still neutral configuration, consistent with a technical rebound rather than a confirmed trend reversal.
The movement occurs in a favorable market context, with Brent crude falling below $90 (-5.17% in the session) easing the pressure on fuel costs for the construction sector. Eiffage's progress is in line with its peers: Vinci is up 2.31%, Bouygues by 1.91%. Over a month, the stock is still down 8.5%, and 6.5% over three months, a decline that today's session only mitigates. This weekly gain of 2.46% softens the recent decline but does not erase the monthly drop of 8.5%.
A Recent Contract Book Enhances the Visibility of the Construction Group
Against the backdrop of a deteriorating building sector in France (construction climate at -17.2 in May, order books at -32), Eiffage continues to secure contracts. On June 5, the group announced it had won a €110 million contract in Nuremberg for the replacement of two bridges. Two days earlier, it signed a contract worth over €120 million with Campus IA for the construction of a high-voltage electrical substation in Fouju.
In addition to these markets, a consortium including Bouygues, Eiffage, Vinci, NGE, and Fayat was revealed in early June to be shortlisted for the €10 billion civil engineering of six EPR2 nuclear reactors by EDF. The group had already secured a twelve-year partnership at the end of May between Eiffage Métal and Arabelle Solutions, an EDF subsidiary, on the condensers of future nuclear reactors. The technical resistance at €142.70 remains distant; the 50-day moving average at €132.70 is the next intermediate benchmark to watch to confirm a change in trend.
