Ubisoft stock among the most neglected values of the SBF 120 this Monday
After the spectacular rebound in September that had propelled the Breton stock to the top of the broader index, Ubisoft is stalling this Monday and finds itself at the bottom of the SBF 120 ranking, in an otherwise nearly stable market. The decline occurs as short positions on the stock, although down over one month, remain at a structurally elevated level.
A decline that brings the stock back to its 20-day moving average
The Ubisoft stock falls 1.72% to €5.25 during the session, finding itself among the most neglected values of the SBF 120, whose index is only up 0.07%. The stock thus finds itself at the level of its 20-day MA at €5.22, which partially erases the bullish movement that had characterized the second half of September. However, the price remains above the 200-day MA at €5.05, with a gap of nearly 4%, which preserves the longer-term configuration.
The 50-day MA at €5.31, slightly above the current price, now constitutes the first threshold to reclaim to regain the momentum of recent weeks. The RSI at 51 remains neutral, with no signals of exhaustion or excess in either direction, which indicates more of a consolidation than a breakout. The support at €4.86 remains far below, while resistance at €5.67 represents the next hurdle to overcome on the upside.
Short positions in decline but still very elevated on the capital
The weight of bearish positions remains a structural element of Ubisoft's stock market environment. According to the statements consulted, ten funds collectively hold 11.76% of the capital sold short, a level down 2.10 percentage points over thirty days (compared to 13.86% one month ago), but which remains among the highest on the Paris exchange. This decline reflects a gradual reduction in bearish positions, without signaling a capitulation by short sellers: at over 11%, cumulative short interest remains a potential pressure on the stock.
These positions reflect the persistent caution of institutional investors who anticipate either a continuation of operational difficulties or hedging of other exposures. The analysts' views and the evolution of this short ratio will need to be monitored in the coming weeks, especially as the 2026 annual general meeting is scheduled for September 30.
