JCDecaux Extends Advertising Contract with São Paulo Metro
JCDecaux has announced the renewal and extension of its advertising contract for several São Paulo metro lines until 2036, including the Silver Line 15.
Contract Extension Details
According to JCDecaux's press release, the Brazilian subsidiary of the group has extended its advertising concession contract for the Blue Line 1, Green Line 2, and Red Line 3 of the São Paulo metro. The contract, initially set to expire in 2030, has been extended until February 2036, thus adding an additional six years of operation. Additionally, the new agreement now includes the Silver Line 15. This renewal will take effect in February 2026, and will cover 70 stations with a daily average passenger flow of over 5 million.
Digitalization and Modernization
JCDecaux reports that the contract extension is accompanied by a process of digitalization and modernization of advertising inventories. The group notes that the lines involved currently have more than 1,050 advertising faces. Present on all operational lines of the São Paulo metro, JCDecaux emphasizes its commitment to the development of digital solutions and data intelligence to enhance its outdoor communication offerings.
JCDecaux's Presence in Brazil
Having been in Brazil for 27 years, JCDecaux holds a 12% market share in outdoor advertising. The company operates in 14 states and the Federal District, with more than 17,000 advertising faces covering various sectors such as streets, transportation, and supermarkets, as well as major airports in the country. The group highlights Brazil as one of its most digitalized markets, with digital display assets already representing 70% of the local revenue, and a DOOH programmatic revenue share of over 10%.
