Abivax among the best performers of the SBF 120 despite a -24.5% decline over the quarter
The Parisian biotech specialised in inflammatory diseases is rising sharply late in the afternoon, while its index barely moves. This move places it among the leaders of the SBF 120 after a difficult quarter.
A rebound that recovers the MM20 but leaves the stock well below its long-term averages
The stock gains 5.46% to €80.20, well ahead of the SBF 120, which is nearly flat at -0.02%. It ranks among the strongest gains in the index, behind DBV Technologies, Inventiva and Genfit. This recovery allows the stock to move back above its MM20 (€79.55, a gap of +0.82%), but the MM50 remains 8.05% above the price, at €87.22.
The rebound therefore only partly erases the recent decline: the stock still loses 24.55% over three months, for a gain of 2.82% over the week. The RSI at 46 remains neutral.
Abivax is a single company listed on two exchanges, Euronext Paris and the Nasdaq (via ADSs at a ratio of one ADS per ordinary share), which makes it a stock followed on both sides of the Atlantic, unlike most SBF 120 stocks. The previous sessions of selling pressure had pushed the price well below its usual reference levels.
Five funds hold 5.59% of the capital in short positions, up 0.92 points over one month
On the bearish side, the picture remains heavy. According to the declarations consulted, five funds are positioned to the downside on the stock for a total of 5.59% of the capital, compared with 4.67% thirty days earlier, an increase of 0.92 points.
A level of this order indicates that institutional investors are betting against the stock or seeking to hedge an exposure, without it being possible to infer their motivations. It also points to a possible leverage effect on price movements, both up and down: when these positions are unwound, buy-backs can amplify a rebound.
The monthly increase remains moderate in absolute terms, which calls for monitoring the evolution of this figure rather than drawing a definitive conclusion from it.
In terms of price reference points, the support level is at €76.05, while resistance stands at €87.8. The analyst opinions on Abivax remain available to position the stock relative to price targets.
