Arcadis: WSP Global Abandons Public Offer Deemed Undervalued
The Dutch engineering and consulting group has responded to the decision by Canadian WSP Global not to file a public offer for its shares.
WSP Abandons Public Offer Project
Arcadis (EURONEXT: ARCAD) announced on September 23, 2026, that it had noted the decision by WSP Global Inc. not to proceed with a public offer covering all issued and outstanding shares of Arcadis.
The two proposals from WSP had been examined and unanimously rejected by the management board and supervisory board (the "Boards"), which considered them as undervaluing the company's intrinsic value, strategic position and prospects.
According to Arcadis, the transaction would moreover have raised questions concerning the execution of strategic plans, the compatibility of corporate cultures and integration risks, with unfavorable consequences for shareholders, employees, customers and other stakeholders.
Reaffirmation of Strategic Pillars and Capital Markets Day
Heather Polinsky, Chief Executive Officer, thanked, on behalf of the management board and supervisory board, shareholders, customers and employees for their feedback over recent months, expressing the intention to strengthen Arcadis' distinctive culture and performance.
The Boards reaffirmed their commitment to the strategic pillars announced during the results for the second quarter 2026: focusing on sectors and markets where Arcadis has a genuine competitive advantage, simplifying around customer needs and strengthening the performance culture.
Arcadis will present an update of its medium-term strategy at its Capital Markets Day, scheduled for September 29, 2026 in Amsterdam. The group employs approximately 34,000 people, operates in more than 30 countries and reported gross revenues of 4.9 billion euros for 2025.
