Alten among the biggest decliners in the SBF 120, down 4%
The engineering consulting specialist slipped in mid-morning, in a Paris market weighed down by the fall in technology stocks on Wall Street. The decline follows several weeks of strong gains that had pushed the stock well above its long-term benchmarks.
A decline that brings the stock back to its 20-day moving average
The share of Alten fell 3.96% to €86.10, ranking 114th out of 120 in the SBF 120 and placing it among the largest decliners in the index. The drop brings the price back to the level of its 20-day moving average, at €86.42 (a gap of -0.37%), while the 50-day moving average, at €79.14, remains 8.8% below the current price.
The stock still shows a 10% gain over one month, but has barely moved over the week (-0.46%).
The CAC 40 lost 1.65% at the same time, in a market shaken by the declines on Wall Street (Nasdaq down 5.5% on Thursday) and in Asia. Technology services stocks are among those most exposed to this tech sell-off.
Third-quarter figures that had raised the organic growth target
On 27 October, the group published third-quarter revenue of €1,055.2 million, up 6.4% year on year and up 3.6% on a constant basis. Management was then targeting organic growth of around 2% for 2026, after 2.3% over the first nine months.
Alten also bought back €57 million of shares over twelve months, equivalent to 1.9% of its market capitalisation, according to the latest disclosure read on 23 September.
The gap between the price and the 200-day moving average, at €66.44, remains close to 30%, while the RSI at 53 is neutral. The day's decline therefore leaves the €86 level as the reference to watch for the end of the session.
