Atos share breaks through support at €22.72 and prolongs its decline
The IT services and cybersecurity group continues its downward trend on Friday, breaching a technical threshold monitored over several sessions. Selling pressure remains sustained as indicators confirm a severely deteriorated configuration.
Support broken during the session, plunge of over 22% in one month
Atos Group declines 1.85% to €22.30 during the session, after breaching its support level at €22.72 on the downside. The share remains below this threshold, which had served as a floor over recent weeks. This breach further deteriorates an already severely degraded technical configuration, with the price now trading well below its moving averages: the 20-day MA at €25.71 shows a gap of 13.26%, while the 50-day MA at €28.38 trades more than 21.4% above the current price.
The RSI at 23 confirms an extreme oversold situation, similar to the level of 21 reached in early September, with no reversal signals visible at this time. Over one month, the decline reaches 22.08%, and over three months, it exceeds 33%.
Short sellers amplify structural downward pressure
According to reported declarations, four funds hold a combined 3.11% of Atos Group capital sold short, a level up by 1.31 percentage points over thirty days (it was 1.80% a month ago). This rapid rise in short positions signals increased institutional distrust, although the precise motivations cannot be determined: part may relate to exposure hedging, another part to a directional downward bet. This level of 3.11% remains notable for a stock already under severe pressure. Furthermore, the group announced on September 23 its membership in France Cyber Maritime, an association dedicated to cybersecurity in the maritime and port sector, within the framework of strengthened requirements linked to the NIS2 directive.
A commercial recovery signal that is insufficient, for now, to reverse the underlying trend. Upon publication of H1 2026 results (July 30, 2026), the group anticipated organic revenue growth of approximately -5% and an operating margin of approximately 7% — cautious guidance that underscores persistent difficulties. Resistance at €29.64 remains far away, more than 32% above the current price.
