Accreditation Linked to CBAM Implementation
Bureau Veritas announced that it has obtained accreditation enabling it to provide verification services under the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). The group recalls that, with the European Union's entry into the next phase of CBAM implementation, companies importing products with high carbon intensity into the EU face increasing requirements in terms of emissions reporting and independent verification. According to the company, this accreditation enables it to provide recognized verification services intended to help companies demonstrate their compliance with regulatory obligations, while strengthening the reliability and transparency of emissions data.
An Offering Based on Carbon Verification Experience
The company specified that this accreditation expands its portfolio of transition services and builds on its experience in accredited verification under the Emissions Trading System (ETS), as well as on accredited services for verification and validation of greenhouse gases according to standards such as ISO 14064 and ISO 14067. Ken Smith, Vice President of Bureau Veritas' Global Transition Services, stated that organizations preparing for the next phase of CBAM need a partner capable of providing independent assurance, technical expertise, and support at a global level. This announcement comes after several recent communications from the group, including the achievement on September 18, 2026, of the capacity to conduct Together for Sustainability audits in the chemical sector.
