Bureau Veritas shares fall 2%, stalling at their €30.22 resistance
The inspection and certification group is losing ground in a Paris market clearly tilted to the downside. The decline follows a very weak US session, after a rebound under way for several weeks.
A pullback that leaves the stock above its three moving averages
Bureau Veritas loses 2.05% to €29.60 intraday, in the lower part of the CAC 40 ranking, while the index falls 1.65%.
The stock thus returns close to its €30.22 resistance, which it has not broken. It nevertheless retains a margin above its moving averages: the MA20 stands at €28.72, a gap of 3.06% below the share price, and the MA200 at €27.25.
Over one month, the stock still gains 12.42%, a gain that the session has barely dented. This movement follows a 250-session high reached on November 4, and the RSI at 63 is approaching overbought levels.
A session dominated by the Wall Street sell-off and tension over French debt
The group's decline occurs against a backdrop of strong risk aversion. On Thursday, Wall Street suffered its sharpest correction since April 2025, with the Nasdaq down 5.52% and the S&P 500 down 4.36%, and the Nikkei closed Friday down 5.96%. The DAX loses 1.61% and the SBF 120 falls 1.66%.
On the French side, the rejection on first reading of the first part of the 2027 budget keeps the spread between the 10-year OAT, at 4.75% according to the latest reading of November 5, and the Bund at 1.48 points.
On the fundamentals, the group is running a €200 million share buyback programme announced in February, executed at about 36% as of October 27, i.e. €71 million repurchased. The next technical level to watch is the €30.22 resistance.
