DBV Technologies: VITESSE Delivers Positive Results, THRIVE Presented at EAACI
DBV Technologies announced on Monday new positive data from its phase 3 VITESSE study and introduced the protocol of its phase 2 THRIVE study, both focusing on its epicutaneous immunotherapy patch for children and infants allergic to peanuts. These studies will be presented at the 2026 European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) Congress, to be held from June 12 to 15 in Istanbul.
VITESSE Study Shows Significant Efficacy in Children with Atopic Comorbidities
The Viaskin Peanut patch demonstrated statistically significant efficacy compared to placebo in children aged 4 to 7 years with peanut allergies associated with other common atopic conditions. The VITESSE study randomized 654 participants (438 treated with the patch, 216 receiving a placebo). After 12 months, response rates in the treated group reached 48.3% in children suffering from asthma, 46.8% in those with concurrent food allergies, and 47.2% in those with atopic dermatitis, compared to 19.6%, 13.6%, and 13.2% respectively in the placebo groups. These results are comparable to the overall response rate of the study, which was 46.6% for the active treatment against 14.9% for the placebo.

DBV Technologies has initiated the phase 2 THRIVE study, which will recruit approximately 250 infants aged 6 to 12 months with confirmed peanut allergies. This study will assess the efficacy and safety of the Viaskin Peanut patch aimed at enabling unrestricted peanut consumption after three years of treatment. Daniel Tassé, CEO of DBV Technologies, stated that these two presentations highlight 'the versatility and clinical interest of the Viaskin Peanut patch program across different patient populations.' The company asserts that the results of VITESSE 'reinforce our confidence in the potential clinical value of the Viaskin Peanut patch.'
