Engie Shares Break Through Resistance at €23.64 on the Eve of Its Earnings Release
The energy producer is posting a strong gain in a well-oriented Paris market. This rebound extends the one begun last week, and it comes on the eve of a major earnings release for the group.
A Resistance Level Broken Intraday and Two Moving Averages Reclaimed
Engie trades at €23.94 and is up 2.66%, ranking 9th in the CAC 40, which is rising 1.51%.
The stock broke intraday through its €23.64 resistance, a high for the past thirty sessions, which now serves as support. It is trading above its 20-day moving average (MM20) at €23.19 (a gap of 3.23%) and its 50-day moving average (MM50) at €23.49 (a gap of 1.92%).
The 200-day moving average (MM200), at €26.12, remains 8.35% above the current price. The move erases part of the quarterly decline of 10.9%: over one week, Engie is already up 2.44%, and 5.09% over one month.
The Paris session takes place against a backdrop in which renewable energy stocks are among the supports for European stock markets, according to the market context of the day.
Third-Quarter Results Expected on November 5
Engie will publish its third-quarter 2026 results on November 5. The group had raised its 2026 guidance for recurring net income, Group share, when it published its first-half 2026 results on July 31, 2026.
On the operational side, it announced on October 29 the commissioning of 450 MW of solar capacity in India, in Rajasthan and Gujarat, where it has around 2 GW of capacity in operation or under construction.
On October 14, it teamed up with CMA CGM to produce biomethane in Le Havre as early as 2029, a project still subject to a final investment decision. The next key date for the stock is therefore Thursday's publication, with resistance at €29.26 as the nearest high level on the chart.
