Eutelsat Communications stock rebounds but remains down 38% over three months
The satellite operator's stock from Issy-les-Moulineaux is recovering some ground at the end of the week, contrary to the downward trend that has weighed on it for several months. This rebound coincides with a well-oriented SBF 120 in morning trading, while the stock continues to accumulate severe losses across all medium-term horizons.
A technical rebound that only partially offsets the quarterly decline
Eutelsat Communications gains 1.41% to €1.55 during the session, after closing at €1.53 the previous day. The rebound remains modest compared to the extent of the accumulated decline: the stock is still down 37.94% over three months and 10.81% over the past month. This uptick only marginally eases the pressure, without erasing recent losses.
The SBF 120 advances 0.83% in parallel, in an early October session that also sees the CAC 40 gain nearly one percentage point, despite persistent tension on French sovereign debt (the 10-year OAT is approaching 4.90% on October 1, 2026, at the highest level of the series since 2002). Eutelsat's rebound places the stock at rank 26 out of 120 values in the SBF 120, a middling position that confers no status as one of the index's best performers.
A deteriorated technical configuration, with the RSI in marked oversold territory
The technical reading remains concerning. The stock is trading at €1.55, below its 20-day moving average at €1.76 (gap of -11.88%), below its 50-day moving average at €1.91 (gap of -18.80%) and below its 200-day moving average at €2.31 (gap of -32.86%): the three moving averages form a continuous technical ceiling that weighs on any rebound. The RSI at 27 signals a clear oversold configuration, which reflects the accumulated selling exhaustion over several weeks, without however guaranteeing a turnaround. The support level at €1.53, virtually at the level of Thursday's closing price, remains the first level to defend.
The next resistance level is located at €1.95, representing a gap of more than 25% above the current price. In this context, analyst consensus and quarterly trajectory remain the two variables to monitor to assess the sustainability of this rebound, following the downward revision of Bernstein's target published on October 1.
