Fnac Darty adopts Wero for Merchants, deployment on fnac.com beginning 2027
Alongside Wero and several major companies, Fnac Darty has partnered in launching a European payment solution dedicated to e-commerce. The group sees this as a strategic choice for maintaining customer relationships in an omnichannel model.
Instant account-to-account payment transfer
Wero, initially designed for payments between individuals, is expanding its scope to e-commerce with Wero for Merchants. The solution is based on instant account-to-account payment transfer: the customer pays for their purchase from their bank's application, without entering their banking details, or directly via the Wero for Merchants application.
It is presented as an alternative to traditional payment solutions and digital wallets, designed to integrate into e-merchants' payment journeys and be deployed across several European markets.
The launch in France and Europe was presented on September 8, 2026 in Paris, during a press conference organized by BNP Paribas bringing together representatives from Wero and several companies, including Fnac Darty, Orange, Decathlon and Air France.
Testing phase on fnac.com before gradual deployment
Fnac Darty will deploy Wero for Merchants on fnac.com beginning 2027, before gradual expansion in stores and in its other European countries. The solution is currently in an initial testing and learning phase on the platform.
According to the group, a possible large-scale deployment across its markets in France and Europe could be considered depending on results. Enrique Martinez, Chief Executive Officer of Fnac Darty, indicated that payment is an integral part of the customer experience and represents a strategic choice for end-to-end customer relationship management.
Martin Aunos, Director of Services, Circular Economy and Payments at Fnac Darty, stressed that Wero for Merchants offers a payment method intended to be deployed across the European scale.
