Gecina Stock: One of the Strongest Gains on the SBF 120, the Stock Rallies 2.5%
The Paris-based real estate company rebounds sharply this Tuesday, following a September marked by significant losses. The session takes place in a slightly rising Paris market, while French debt remains under scrutiny.
A Rebound That Only Offsets a Small Part of the Quarterly Decline
The Gecina stock gains 2.45% to €62.60 in trading, placing it among the strongest gainers on the SBF 120, an index up 0.28%. The stock thus mitigates a decline of 13.24% over three months, far from having recovered lost ground. It is still trading 0.62% below its 20-day moving average at €62.99, which the day's rise brings it close to regaining, and 7.78% below its 50-day moving average, placing the rebound within a fundamental downtrend. The RSI at 34 remains low following the five-year lows recorded at the end of September and October 1st, when the price fell below €60.20.
The bond market sheds light on the context. The 10-year OAT, raised to 4.86% by the Banque de France on October 12, has gained 45 basis points in one month, and the spread with the Bund stands at 1.40 percentage points. Over twelve years, the real estate company's price has moved in the opposite direction of this spread, a sensitivity observed in the past and which says nothing about the future. The 2027 budget is being examined in a session at the National Assembly since this Tuesday.
La Défense Leases and Activity Update Expected on October 14
Gecina announced on October 12 the signing of two firm leases of 11.5 and 11 years covering 29,000 m², on Building B and Adamas, two buildings adjacent to Shape (formerly Tower T1) at Paris La Défense. The two transactions are linked: the current occupant of Building B will move into Adamas, and a new tenant will take the entirety of Building B. On the analyst side, CIC Market Solutions maintained its buy recommendation with a price target of €82.00 on October 12, representing a gap of approximately 31% with today's price.
On analyst views, the consensus recorded places the valuation at approximately 9.3 times the earnings of the current fiscal year. The next milestone is the activity update for the first nine months, expected on October 14.
