Hermès Stock Falls to €1,298.50, Lowest Level Since 2022
The Parisian leather goods maker recorded a new unprecedented low since 2022 on Monday, amplifying a decline that has now extended over several weeks. Two research firms revised their price targets during the day, one significantly lowering its target while the other maintained a positive view despite a reduction of nearly 400 euros to its range.
New 2022 Low Broken During the Session, Despite a Well-Oriented CAC 40
The Hermès International security declined 1.15% to €1,316.25 in mid-morning trading, while the CAC 40 gained 0.83% during the session. Intraday, the security touched €1,298.50, thus breaking its previous downside record since 2022 (previous low: €1,320.00). This new low illustrates the magnitude of the correction: the security is down nearly 6% over the week and more than 15% over the month, two timeframes that demonstrate sustained selling pressure.
the security ranks among the steepest declines in the index, in a context that remains favorable for technology and financial stocks. Economic conditions are also weighing on the luxury segment: Swiss watch exports to China fell 18.5% year-on-year in August 2026 and jewelry sales in China declined 17.5% over the same period, illustrating the persistent fragility of premium demand in Asia.
Two Target Revisions This Morning, RSI at Extreme Oversold Level of 26
Two brokerage firms published new opinions this morning on the analyst consensus surrounding Hermès. Oddo BHF lowered its target from €1,627 to €1,470, with a "neutral" view, representing only an 11.7% premium to the current price. Bernstein, for its part, maintained a "outperform" rating while significantly reducing its target from €2,150 to €1,750, representing a theoretical upside potential of 33% from current levels.
On the technical indicators front, the RSI at 26 signals a pronounced oversold configuration, a level the security had not reached since the January 2026 decline. The price is trading below the 20-day moving average (€1,477.33, -10.9% variance) and the 50-day moving average (€1,560.34, -15.6% variance), both of which now form a mobile ceiling well above current prices. The next resistance is identified at €1,644.50, more than 324 euros above the current price. When publishing first-half 2026 results on July 29th last, the group highlighted the opening of its sixth House in London and the acceleration of leather goods manufacturing capacity as medium-term growth drivers.
