Military Cybersecurity: Airbus Wins Paracom Contract Over 25 Years
The General Directorate of Armaments has selected Airbus to equip the Ministry of Armed Forces networks with cybersecurity gateways. The award follows a competitive procurement process and commits the company for a quarter century.
Airbus Cybersecurity Selected by DGA Following Call for Tenders
The General Directorate of Armaments (DGA) has selected Airbus, through its subsidiary Airbus Cybersecurity SAS, for the PARACOM contract, following a competitive procurement process.
The agreement covers the supply of cybersecurity gateways intended for the networks of the French Ministry of Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs. It encompasses the study and development of several gateway prototypes, as well as their production and operational maintenance.
The award was announced on September 23, 2026 from Paris.
A Contract Spanning 25 Years
The contract extends over a period of 25 years. Once deployed across the armed forces, directorates and services of the ministry, the PARACOM gateways will enable filtering and securing data exchanges between networks and information systems with different classification or sensitivity levels.
PARACOM will be authorized and certified to cover a spectrum of data exchanges between "secret" and "unclassified" levels.
Deployment on Operational Theaters and Tactical Embedding
The gateways will be installed at ministry sites or deployed on operational theaters. They will be available in several versions for integration into a datacenter rack or in a container for deployment in a command post.
They will also be intended for embedding in more constrained tactical environments, such as surface ships or submarines, aircraft, helicopters or drones, or aboard armored vehicles and land-based platforms. According to Airbus, the group has been supplying gateways of this type to French land forces since 2013.
