Rémy Cointreau shares fall back below their €52.15 resistance and drop 2.5%
The cognac producer halts its rebound in a stable Paris market. The session departs from the trend of the month and comes a few days after the publication of its half-year sales.
The stock falls back below €52.15 after an intraday high at €52.25
Rémy Cointreau shares are down 2.41% at €50.60, compared with €51.85 at the previous close. The stock had nevertheless moved above its €52.15 resistance intraday, reaching a high of €52.25, before slipping back below it. This threshold had already been exceeded on November 2, during a session that extended the rebound under way for a month.
The share price remains above its three moving averages: the gap is 3.94% with the MA20 (€48.68) and 18.17% with the MA200 (€42.82). The stock is still up more than 20% over one month.
Meanwhile, Pernod Ricard fell 0.70% and the CAC 40 was virtually flat at 8,046 points. Rémy Cointreau is among the largest decliners in the SBF 120, which is stable on the session.
BofA raises its target from €41 to €46, still below the share price and with a sell rating
BofA Securities raised its price target on November 2 from €41 to €46, while keeping its sell rating. This target remains about 9% below the current share price.
The sector backdrop remains difficult: cognac exports fell 23.8% in value over 2025 according to the FEVS. On October 28, the group published its half-year sales of €510.9 million, up 2.9% on an organic basis. It then confirmed its 2026-27 targets.
The latest mention of its statements noted a particularly volatile environment, with a favorable currency effect expected over the year.
Reported net short positions reach 4.32% of the share capital, spread across five funds, or 0.55 points less than a month ago. This level remains high, but the trend is easing. It indicates that institutional investors remain positioned against the stock, without their motivations being known.
